Anthony Lee Donnelly, 41, who has no fixed address, has been charged by a grand jury with multiple counts of murder following the death of his wife, Rachela Virginia Disandro, 37, earlier this year.

In late May, officers from the Hagerstown Police Department were called to the Hagerstown City Park at the Jonathan Hager House, where they found Disandro's dead body inside a stone alcove under the porch of a house.

She was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple stab wounds by first responders, police say. Disandro was known to sleep in the location where she was killed and found, they noted.

Donnelly was indicted on Tuesday, Sept. 5 and charged with:

  • First- and second-degree murder;
  • First- and second-degree assault;
  • Reckless endangerment;
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

He's being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
